As we see it, our flexibility as an online, asynchronous club allows a special type of service to Rotarians around the world: we make it easier for anyone to strive for and maintain 100% attendance. That keeps you engaged with Rotary's events and ideas, and provides a moment of inspiration for devoting your creativity, talents, and resources to good causes.You are certainly not required to pay anything in order to attend our meetings. However, if you would like to make a small contribution to our service efforts, you are welcome to do so in our secure Happy Dollars section down the page. This could be what you normally pay at your own club's meetings for lunch, for example. Any amount is welcome, but first and foremost, we're happy you've joined us, and hope you will share with others who we are and what we do to help inspire Service Above Self.And don't forget to fill out our attendance form so you get an email you can pass on to your club's secretary!

Weirdest Christmas Traditions From Around the World!
About 30% of the World's population is Christian. However this doesn't stop the rest of the World from celebrating Christmas, or 'X-mas', even celebrated by other religions in almost every corner of the globe. So here are some of the strangest variations of Christmas.
Coffee With a Rotarian
A natural part of Rotary is the networking and the fellowship you get out of meeting other Rotarians. Coffee With a Rotarian is a monthly program of our club where we match participating club members for one-on-one virtual (or in some cases in person) coffee meetings, so they can learn more about each other. This program is organized by member Tzviatko Chiderov.
This week we have Rebecca from Sydney, Australia reporting on a chat with Rushton from San Jose, CA, USARushton was pleased to be celebrating the completion of his financial reports for his non-profit organisation which will be having another educational video contest in December. He's also heading to Beijing soon for a conference on utilising technology in education, his first time visiting China's capital.Fun fact, Rushton has a nephew who is famous on social media who has just released a music video in time for Christmas! This led to a discussion about the trends around social media influencers, the broad shift to younger people seeking influencing as a career and the impact of fame as an 'influencer'.Rushton was also able to provide some ideas on potential collaboration for a RYLA project I'm working on, RYLA Oceania https://rylaoceania.org/. He has such a wealth of knowledge around innovative service which will be great to explore further! Thanks for a great catch up Rushton!

Here is a little bit about herself:
I work as a Hedge Fund Investment Due Diligence Function Coordinator at an Alternative Investment Consulting Firm called Albourne Partners. I began working at the company after
graduating from the University of Toronto with a B.A in Political Science & Criminology. I’ve been with the firm for 8 years, working in different roles. In March 2018, I moved over to our Munich office to start my current position.I come from a Rotary family. My dad and my sister are Rotarians and my mom is part of Inner Wheel. I was a Rotaractor for 10 years, first joining the Rotaract Club of the University of Toronto and then transitioning to the community-based club, the Rotaract Club of Toronto. I served as Club President from 2013-2014 and as the District Rotaract Representative in District 7070 from 2015-2016. It was an amazing ride!In my spare time I enjoy traveling (just visited my 40th country this year), going on food adventures, cooking, learning German, watching documentaries and spending time with my family and friends.

Happy Dollars: Do Good by Sharing Something Good
Each week we ask our members to share stories with the club and toss in a few dollars to support our efforts. The primary goal of this section is to provide a fun way of getting to know each fellow members and guests, while giving back to a good cause.
Happy dollars is an opportunity to share something positive that has happened in your life whether it is personal or business. Think of it as your opportunity to brag a little, but also put a little bit into a karma jar. The money donated through happy dollars is put to charitable use, and the message that you leave for happy dollars will be posted in our online meeting the following week for the entire week for folks to see! (Pending that it’s appropriate!)

I was very surprised to see my smiling face and Gus, my latest feline acquisition.
The DG's talk was a very good DG talk. Unfortunately, it shows that the district, the DG and RI as whole are still struggling with what to do with e-Clubs. Rome wasn't built in a day, so we have the next Rotary year to deal with this issue. Problems need to be identified before they can be fixed.

If you look at the September issue of the Rotarian, you will find a letter to the editor on the Four Way test written by our speaker today, Professor William Weckerly.Bill is immently qualified to speak to us on the Four Way test for the following reasons:1: He is 82 years of age and has over 50 years of perfect attendance in Rotary;2: He is a retired Christian Minister;3: He has taught a course in Ethics for the last 17 years at an University in Florida.
