Here’s a message from President Andrew:
Greetings Rotarians and Guests,As I write this, I'm finally settling in after returning from Toronto for the annual Rotary International Convention. As I look back at the pictures I took, I feel incredibly fortunate to have joined this e-Club. Although our members live hundreds and thousands of miles apart, we are still connected by a common drive to better serve our communities. I had the opportunity to meet a few of our members for the first time: Raquel from Mexico, Bec from Australia, and Celine from Belize. In fact, before I was able to give Bec and Raquel a hug, I saw them in person for the first time while they were on stage as a part of a panel about Rotaractors becoming Rotarians. This made us quite famous at the convention because they spoke in front of a filled stadium of 25,000 Rotarians! Weekly Inspiration
Every week we start our meetings with a short video highlighting innovation, inspiration, entrepreneurship, or social change.
One Halloween, Ryan Weimer’s then-3-year-old son wanted to dress up as a pirate. But his son, who has spinal muscular atrophy, is restricted to a wheelchair. So Ryan fashioned a homemade costume that incorporated the wheelchair as a pirate ship, and his son absolutely loved it. From that idea was born Magic Wheelchair—a global non-profit organization that creates custom wheelchair costumes for kids. In addition to bringing joy to the costumed kids and their families, Weimer says his designs can act as a “cure for the day” by liberating the kids from the stigma so often attached to wheelchairs.

Coffee With a Rotarian
A natural part of Rotary is the networking and the fellowship you get out of meeting other Rotarians. Coffee With a Rotarian is a monthly program of our club where we match participating club members for one-on-one virtual (or in some cases in person) coffee meetings, so they can learn more about each other. This program is organized by member Tzviatko Chiderov.

Happy Dollars: Do Good by Sharing Something Good
Each week we ask our members to share stories with the club and toss in a few dollars to support our efforts. The primary goal of this section is to provide a fun way of getting to know each fellow members and guests, while giving back to a good cause.
Happy dollars is an opportunity to share something positive that has happened in your life whether it is personal or business. Think of it as your opportunity to brag a little, but also put a little bit into a karma jar. The money donated through happy dollars is put to charitable use, and the message that you leave for happy dollars will be posted in our online meeting the following week for the entire week for folks to see! Congratulations Andrew on your first meeting for this new Rotary year. I'm very enthusiastic about participating this week, as I was a Rotaractor for 5 years, and lately have been missing the good ol' days.
I found very interesting the concept of biomimicry. I smiled when I read that every meeting starts with a short video highlighting innovation, inspiration, entrepreneurship, or social change. At my workplace, innovation is being heavily promoted, and we've recently been learning about block chain technology.

Program: Entrepreneurship and Fundraising in the Cannabis Industry
Every week we bring to you a new program on innovation, education, technology, and humanitarian service.
Louis Han is primarily responsible for developing deal flow for The Arcview Group’s investor network. He gained his investment experience from working with high net-worth foreign nationals in private equity and debt financings in commercial real estate transactions.The cannabis industry became his passion after founding, operating and exiting a tax-paying medical cannabis collective that reached over 300 patients in the San Francisco Bay Area in just 1 year.A long-time advocate for local and international communities in need, Louis had the privilege of arguing a deportation case pro bono in front of the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, receiving multiple awards for pro bono service within the Silicon Valley community, teaching ESL to underprivileged youth in South Korea, and community leadership with Rotary International.He received his law degree from Santa Clara University with a focus on corporate law and immigration. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Davis. This week, Louis presents an overview of what kinds of companies are starting in the burgeoning new cannabis industry and how they go about fundraising.Note from the Host (Andrew):We had some technical difficulties since I was traveling and had limited access to the internet during the recording.
