Greetings Rotarians and Guests,Happy holidays to all who celebrate this week. Regardless of your cultural background or whether you celebrate the holidays, there's always a reason to celebrate a day! This week we have Marissa Renee, a remarkable young artist who will talk about her artistic journey thus far. Art, in all of its forms, are often a form of celebration. As we head toward the new year and some of you may be making New Years Resolutions, this may be a reminder to take some time, celebrate, and create something beautiful.

Coffee With a Rotarian
A natural part of Rotary is the networking and the fellowship you get out of meeting other Rotarians. Coffee With a Rotarian is a monthly program of our club where we match participating club members for one-on-one virtual (or in some cases in person) coffee meetings, so they can learn more about each other. This program is organized by member Tzviatko Chiderov.
This week we have Nate from Nagoya, Japan reporting on a chat with Manuj from Delhi, India.

Let us know what you want to do by posting in our members only Facebook Group (if you don’t have access, please request it with Webmaster Mitty). Remember, you’re only taking advantage of the full impact of Rotary when you’re stepping up to get involved.
Happy Dollars: Do Good by Sharing Something Good
Each week we ask our members to share stories with the club and toss in a few dollars to support our efforts. The primary goal of this section is to provide a fun way of getting to know each fellow members and guests, while giving back to a good cause.
Happy dollars is an opportunity to share something positive that has happened in your life whether it is personal or business. Think of it as your opportunity to brag a little, but also put a little bit into a karma jar. The money donated through happy dollars is put to charitable use, and the message that you leave for happy dollars will be posted in our online meeting the following week for the entire week for folks to see! (Pending that it’s appropriate!)Here are the happy dollars contributions from last week!This section is usually updated on the early hours of Saturday, so contributions made over the weekend may not be listed here.
Brian Liddicoat made a $15 donation.Loving my son' enthusiasm over designing a "magnetic oven" for a school class on inventions. Been trying to unlock this "joy of learning" for years: let's see if it sticks...
Rushton Hurley made a $5 donation.Just saw that Rory is almost retired, and that note from Sandra about her service project in Myanmar in February, and had to toss in a fiver to honor both!

I'm still well connected with the many local terra Clubs I served as District 5160's Camp Royal Co-Chair for about 6 years. Great to work on local projects with them, but I need to store info so I remember to add it to the Community Service Hours part of our meeting. And those reindeer herders -- what a great life commitment!

I just finished a National Geographic course on connecting curriculum to service learning, so this is a timely program. Many of your comments are the kind that came up in the threads. Like others, when I travel I've reached out to Rotary clubs if their meetings fit my schedule. Only in Canada and Australia have I been able to meet, but they were really great experiences, and we are all connected by the Rotary Family.Loved the gags and reindeer video as well!

Every week we bring to you a new program on innovation, entrepreneurship, and education, and how those contribute to service to others. Special thanks to member Roger Plested for leading our club's Programs Committee in finding us amazing speakers each week.
Hello! I’m Marissa Renée, a self-taught Christian portrait artist who travels the United States full-time. I am 19 years old and I completed my bachelor’s degree earlier this year. When I was young, my mother gave my sisters and me Friday-morning art lessons from a skinny yellow art book. That sparked a love of art that has only grown over the years. I started teaching myself art from Walter Foster art books and YouTube videos, and now I’m eager to share the skills that I learned with others. I specialize in drawing human faces in charcoal, watercolor, pastel, and graphite. The eyes that I draw are considered by many to be the most poignant aspect of my work, as I strive to bring as much life, expression, soul, and detail into them and all the features I draw.
