I was blessed to meet Brett and Ange in person a little over a year ago and they are just the coolest people with aspirations to do good and to have fun doing it! Please join me in congratulating them on their beautiful partnership. Wherever you are in the world, whatever you happen to have in your mug/glass/cup, let's raise on to the happy couple and send them thoughts of love!

Weekly Funny with the Lady of Laughter (LOL)
We believe laughter is an important part of life, and we should all make time to laugh a little. This segment of our meeting is meant to tickle you just enough. These funnies are curated by member Yvonne Kwan, our “Lady of Laughter!”

Weekly Inspiration
Every week we start our meetings with a short video highlighting innovation, inspiration, entrepreneurship, or social change.
Sheela and Pratima Devi get up early. Traveling by foot, the healthcare workers go door-to-door, village-by-village through Northern India to spread awareness about elephantiasis. This treatable and preventable disease, spread by mosquitoes, affects 120 million people worldwide. Sheela and Pratima’s visits are part of a wider government effort to combat preconceived ideas that elephantiasis comes from a curse, not a causative agent—and it’s working.

Coffee With a Rotarian
A natural part of Rotary is the networking and the fellowship you get out of meeting other Rotarians. Coffee With a Rotarian is a monthly program of our club where we match participating club members for one-on-one virtual (or in some cases in person) coffee meetings, so they can learn more about each other. This program is organized by member Tzviatko Chiderov.
This week we have Suzanne from Napa, CA, USA reporting on a chat with Nate from Nagoya, Japan.
Nate and I met for CWR today and I thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed our conversation. Nate lives in Japan and teaches social studies in an international school there. He is a very interesting person and we covered a lot of territory during our call. It was fun to see how much we have in common including our commitment to education and innovation. We looked at our common interests and discovered that we both appreciate history, East/West philosophies, Rotary, and wine. He will be posting a video about our call.

Remember, you’re only taking advantage of the full impact of Rotary when you’re stepping up to get involved.
Happy Dollars: Do Good by Sharing Something Good
Each week we ask our members to share stories with the club and toss in a few dollars to support our efforts. The primary goal of this section is to provide a fun way of getting to know each fellow members and guests, while giving back to a good cause.
Happy dollars is an opportunity to share something positive that has happened in your life whether it is personal or business. Think of it as your opportunity to brag a little, but also put a little bit into a karma jar. The money donated through happy dollars is put to charitable use, and the message that you leave for happy dollars will be posted in our online meeting the following week for the entire week for folks to see! (Pending that it’s appropriate!)Here are the happy dollars contributions from last week!This section is usually updated on the early hours of Saturday, so contributions made over the weekend may not be listed here.

Rushton Hurley said:The TED-Ed video on cell phone components was disturbing, but a good one to have watched. I'll share it with my teacher network, and perhaps a student in one of their classes will think of a revolutionary way to create communication devices that don't have the same impacts on the environment.
The article on Rotary's history with the U.N. was a great read. In an age in which the U.N. has been politicized in the U.S. for partisan gain, it's nice to read of the vision that our forebears had for imagining paths to peace.
Very powerful, also, to hear from Chris Castillo and her organization's work to help those who have been victims of sexual assault. I like that Ferheen's question yielded ideas on how to help friends and loved ones who have dealt with being assaulted. Chris' final words in the recording are beautiful.
Nan Herron said:Who knew that there was cell phone pollution?? Good to put on my list of things to learn more about and teach others! And, Chris, thank you so much for your presentation and emphasizing the huge role that shame and secrecy plays for survivors. As a psychiatrist specializing in PTSD (in a hospital in Santa Rosa), I see the profound impact of sexual trauma, and that it is SO much more common than people realize. If we can get the shame out of it, encourage support and communication, and continue the momentum of education, it'll be an enormous contribution to making our world safer and happier! Folks like you are crucial to making the changes our world so badly needs! Thank you!!
