WEEKLY FUNNY WITH SHAGS

We get a good laugh from Shags' Weekly Funny

We believe laughter is an important part of life, and we should all make time to laugh a little. This segment of our meeting is meant to tickle you just enough. These funnies are curated by member Steven "Shags" Shagrin!

Scuba Divers

Paddy and Murphy are havin' a pint in the pub, when some scuba divers come on the TV. Paddy says, "Murphy, why is it them deep sea divers always sit on the side of the boat with them air tanks on their backs, and fall backwards out of the boat?" Murphy thinks for a minute then says, "That's easy. It's 'cos if they fell forwards, they'd still be in the boat!"

Inspiration

The inspirational video can be many things, including giving you a sense of new possibilities. In this case, a guy from the province of Henan in China decided that building a subway for cats would be an inspiring new possibility. Judge for yourself.

PROGRAM: Our Mission with Financial Literacy

SPEAKER: Teens Who Invest

We bring you a new program every week on innovation, entrepreneurship, and education and how they contribute to service to others.

Teens Who Invest is a team of students helping students to build a strong foundation in personal finance and entrepreneurship—essential life skills for real-world success.

These are teenagers who want students globally to have the opportunity to learn something not typically taught in schools. The team's presentations are a mix of lectures and activities starting with the fundamentals of personal finance, identifying needs and wants, building a budget, saving and investing, along with some advanced topics like saving for college and building a small business.

Our presenters, Ria and Mica, are California high school students who have started small businesses of their own, and like many their age also spend time on music and sports.

Members and guests, please welcome Ria and Mica!

THE ATTENDANCE SURVEY

Thanks for reading and watching this week’s meeting. You have two last things to do before you’re done.

We have a very short attendance survey below for you to fill out to record your attendance.

Visiting Rotarians, this is how you can get an email receipt to pass along to your club’s secretary as proof that you’ve attended our meeting if you need it for makeup.

Non-Rotarian Guests, we would love to see who is dropping by our meetings! This part is optional for you. If you think you may want to join our eClub at some point in the future, we would strongly recommend you fill out the attendance form as it will improve your chances of success for your membership application.

For all members and guests — we strongly recommend and ask that you leave a comment in our comments area below. Tell us how you enjoyed the program. Ask this week’s speaker any questions you might have. Or just stop by and say hello and tell us where you’re from!

Important: Once you submit the Attendance Survey below, please make sure you see the confirmation message. If you get an error message instead, please try the 'submit' button again, and if that doesn't work, please refresh the page and fill out the form again. Thanks!
