If so please share them in the comments below.A highlight of my last few days was a chat I had with our newest member - Alexandra. Alex is our first member in Europe as she is based in Switzerland. It’s so incredible to know that our club has members in Africa, Asia, Australia, North America, South America, and now Europe! Anyone have friends in Antarctica we can talk to? :)Have a great week!

As we see it, our flexibility as an online, asynchronous club allows a special type of service to Rotarians around the world: we make it easier for anyone to strive for and maintain 100% attendance. That keeps you engaged with Rotary's events and ideas, and provides a moment of inspiration for devoting your creativity, talents, and resources to good causes.You are certainly not required to pay anything in order to attend our meetings. However, if you would like to make a small contribution to our service efforts, you are welcome to do so in our secure Happy Dollars section down the page. This could be what you normally pay at your own club's meetings for lunch, for example. Any amount is welcome, but first and foremost, we're happy you've joined us, and hope you will share with others who we are and what we do to help inspire Service Above Self.And don't forget to fill out our attendance form so you get an email you can pass on to your club's secretary!

Every week we start our meetings with a short video highlighting innovation, inspiration, entrepreneurship, or social change.
Drive around the North End of Wichita, Kansas, and you’ll find an explosion of color. It’s the work of Horizontes, a community project that fuses activism and creative expression. Created by artist and community organizer Armando Minjarez, who immigrated to the United States in 2001, Horizontes is now at work on the world’s largest acrylic mural by a single artist: a towering, historically accurate piece that honors the Mexican laborers who built the city’s train tracks a century ago.

Coffee With a Rotarian
A natural part of Rotary is the networking and the fellowship you get out of meeting other Rotarians. Coffee With a Rotarian is a monthly program of our club where we match participating club members for one-on-one virtual (or in some cases in person) coffee meetings, so they can learn more about each other. This program is organized by member Tzviatko Chiderov.
This week we have Rushton from San Jose, CA, USA reporting on a chat with Shags from Walnut Creek, CA, USA.
My CWR with Shags was a good one, as time with Shags always is! He showed me pictures of Caleb (his grandson who is six months old), shared a story of an epic $8 eBay purchase of a car part that the dealer wanted $385 to order, and showed me the green garlic he picked up from a farmer this morning. "Hi! Do you have any questions about the club?" - The New Facebook Chatbot on Main Pages. If you have visited any of our non-meeting pages in the past few days, you'll notice that we now have a Facebook Chatbot active on our site. This is one of our new initiatives to try to convert more prospective leads into members, as well as to increase interaction between guests and our club. Messages will be responded to by our social media team. Please note this messenger chat isn't designed for club members. Members, if you still want to contact someone, please direct your notices to the email of the member or the officer you want to reach.
2019 Homepage Refresh! After hearing feedback from members, the webmasters can now say that we have finally gotten around to updating the main hero image on the homepage into something that we believe better represents the global and the digital nature of our club. We'll be periodically changing the graphic throughout the year, as we continue to refresh different parts of our site.
Join page updated! The webmaster team has done a much-needed facelift for the Join page. The start of a new year is the perfect time to share with friends and colleagues our Join page!
Weekly Meeting Disqus Reactions Updated. Did you know you can leave a reaction for each of our weekly meetings now? Right above the comments for a weekly meeting, you'll now find four different reactions you can vote for. We've also added some comment policy, and are working on fine-tuning a few other pieces to the comments and the meetings.

eClub vs. Cancer!
Our club annually gets together to support the fight against cancer, and our 2019 effort starts this week - we would like every member of this club to get involved! You can walk as part of our group at the Santa Clara Relay for Life on April 27th, donate to help fund medical research, or honor a friend or family member battling cancer.
Helloooo, all! Did you get my email on Saturday? Was it Sunday in your part of the world? Either way, I hope you saw how participation has grown in our effort as a club to help end the scourge of cancer!This week, a big shout-out goes to Brett and Ange, whose tea and pastry side business is donating April's profits to our effort. Curious what that looks like? Feast your eyes on this bundle of yumminess:(cinnamon roll image)As a club dedicated to service, we are a team making the world a better place. Helping fun research to end cancer is not just a good way to do that, it's also a chance to come together as a group. If you haven't joined in yet, email Rushton (rushton@siliconvalleyrotary.com) and he can send you the list of ways to get involved.What can you do now? Well, one especially fun way to get involved is to join the group attending the San Jose Earthquakes match on April 6th! Contact Rushton (rushton@siliconvalleyrotary.com) if you (and friends!) are up for a great outing, soccer style!
Happy Dollars: Do Good by Sharing Something Good
Each week we ask our members to share stories with the club and toss in a few dollars to support our efforts. The primary goal of this section is to provide a fun way of getting to know each fellow members and guests, while giving back to a good cause.
Happy dollars is an opportunity to share something positive that has happened in your life whether it is personal or business. Think of it as your opportunity to brag a little, but also put a little bit into a karma jar. The money donated through happy dollars is put to charitable use, and the message that you leave for happy dollars will be posted in our online meeting the following week for the entire week for folks to see! (Pending that it’s appropriate!)Here are the happy dollars contributions from last week!This section is usually updated on the early hours of Saturday, so contributions made over the weekend may not be listed here.

Program: Rotaract, RI Assembly 2019
Speaker: Elyse Lin
Every week we bring to you a new program on innovation, entrepreneurship, and education, and how those contribute to service to others. Special thanks to member Roger Plested for leading our club's Programs Committee in finding us amazing speakers each week.
Elyse is the Rotaract Moderator of 2019 International Assembly and Rotary International Rotaract and Interact Committee Member this year. Inspired by her participation in volunteer work in college, she joined Rotaract in 2013 as the Charter President of Rotaract Club of Taipei Tin Harbour in District 3840, Taiwan. She then served in several district leadership roles and was elected as District Rotaract Representative in the year 2016-17. She was also the Host Organizing Committee Chair of Interota, the triennial Rotaract World Conference, in 2017.Elyse graduated from National Taiwan University with a major in Life Science. She did her internship at Singapore Immunology Network with the focus on antibody engineering and then joined the government institute and hospital in Taiwan as a biomedical science research assistant. Elyse is currently the Project Manager at Manta Sleep and helps with e-commerce business operations and project management.
